CMH or HPS? Choosing the right 1000W DE lamp for flowering rooms
Both lamp families run on the same Nobel Pro and M5 double-ended fixtures, so the real decision is spectral and financial. A 1000W DE HPS remains the cheapest source of flower-driving intensity — our Nobel HPS DE lamp lists at $99 and the Philips Greenpower Xtra at $149 with a PPF of 2150 µmol/s. CMH 3K lamps, at $109 (315W) up to $189 (1000W DE), trade some raw output for broader spectrum and better out-of-season veg performance.

What 786 pints a day actually means for late-flower humidity
Dense canopies in weeks 6–8 push more water into the air than most growers expect, and HVAC-only dehumidification is the most expensive way to fight it. Coco King: why RO-washed, calcium-buffered coir matters
Not all coco is created equal. Raw coir carries sodium and potassium that compete with calcium at the root's cation exchange sites — which is why Coco King coir is washed in RO water to strip impurities, then buffered with exacting amounts of calcium to displace sodium and potassium. Carbon filtration sizing: matching CFM to your room
A carbon filter that's undersized doesn't just leak odor — it loads up early and dies before its 24-month design life. Match the filter's rated CFM to your exhaust fan at real static pressure, not the fan's free-air number, and round up one size when in doubt.
